I hate that I fall in love so easily…
I fall in love with clouds, and the way the sun drifting down turns them into cotton candy.
I fall in love with the way the breeze tickles the leaves in the trees, causing them to twirl and dance.
I fall in love with the way the rain bounces off puddles, and with thick fog in the evening.
I fall in love with music, and the feeling I get from a song.
With art, and the brush stokes on a painting.
With fairy lights and Christmastime.
With bright colours and soft textures.
I fall in love with people.
With a stranger’s laugh, their smile, their voice.
With the colour of someone’s eyes. With something they said.
With kind acts and soft voices.
I hate that I fall in love so easily, for I often long to be like these things, or to have them for my own.
And I think, just maybe…I might have fallen in love with you…
That ending…breathtakingly beautiful. Lovely, lovely poem.
